IT System Integrity – Cloud Computing
Journal – 2
The research project focuses on IT systems integrity which shows the relevance of system integrity and security in cloud computing. According to the article by Zhou, Zhang, Xie, Qian, & Zhou, (2010, November) it is a very important venture which focuses on the various roles it experts play in ensuring the systems ate invulnerable to any attack by hackers or corruption by malware. The project on IT systems integrity in Cloud computing progress is very promising with some ground breaking discoveries being made. This week the project’s focus was on data collection and analysis which have revealed major loopholes in cloud computing integrity. We are currently coming up with efficient ways of sealing these loopholes making the system intact therefore boosting the confidence of various users on cloud computing and the safety of their data. From the analysis of the security department of IT, one of the major challenges is sealing loopholes and gaps in the system’s security. The project is constantly unveiling various cybercrimes taking place in cloud computing and how the perpetrators avoid detection when messing around with client’s data. The project has also revealed extensively the level of difficulty in preventing such crimes to ensure the integrity of cloud computing services.
The project is also coming up with ways to aid users who are not experts in IT relate to the system to avoid malicious attacks on their crucial documents and other data types stored. This project therefore seeks to transform the security management of IT systems and minimize the chances of attack from unsavory characters. The project is also encouraging the security department to acquire unique software that will ensure the security of the system since the driving force of the project is to restore trust in IT systems in cloud computing thus increasing the number of users as cited by Zissis & Lekkas, (2012).
Data collection done for the research
In this research, data collected was collected from previous participants of the cloud computing vendors/clients to know why many of the systems belonging to the clients are being hacked. It was discovered that most clients use weak passwords to their accounts that can easily be by passed by brute force hacking. Other clients are computer illiterate and sometimes make changes in the installed systems they do not comprehend that may result to catastrophic damage to either the system or operation of the computer. Other information gathered showed that most users are ignorant of their systems. They do not conduct proper maintenance of the various IT components they use such as computers.
Tasks Performed for the research
The research study will also use statistical method of sampling. A sample size of cloud computing vendors and consumers will be drawn from the market. Historical information on participants past experiences with cloud computing and the tools they have been using in verifying data in their cloud will be captured via an online questionnaire. Each participant will be allowed to fill only one questionnaire. This information will be statistically analyzed for recommendations and decision making.
The research study was also involved to know the cloud computing vendors/service providers and consumers of the technology who had participate in the sample.
