1. Brueller, D. & Carmeli, A. (2011). Linking capacities of high-quality relationships to team learning and performance in service organizations. Human Resource Management, 50(4), 455-477.

Brueller and Carmeli (2011) examined the impact of intrateam and external high-quality relationships (HQRs) on learning processes and performance. Data were collected from teams in the service sector in Israel. They found that intrateam HQRs between team members and between team members and their manager, and external HQRs with customers are related to learning processes and team learning is positively related to enhanced team performance. Brueller and Carmeli (2011) also discussed in detail about the three dimensions of HQRs, emotional carrying capacity, tensility of the tie, and degree of connection. The concept of HQRs is different from the concept of workplace social support, LMX, MMX. The measurement of HGRs is provided in the Appendix. The concepts of HQRs and their measurement in this study should be useful in our work.

2. Dubose, M. (2007). Holding out for a hero: Reaganism, comic book vigilantes, and Captain America. Journal of Popular Culture, 40(6), 915-935.

This article examines a sampling of super-heroes as they appeared in the 1980s and analyses how they function as emblems of heroism in American popular culture. To accomplish this, the article first investigates the "intersections between morality, politics and conceptions of justice" particular to that decade in order to define the nature of lawful and vigilante heroes (916). Second, it uses an analysis of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and Alan Moore's Watchmen to demonstrate two ways that the vigilante hero exists in relation to the current state of affairs. And third, it looks at the portrayal of World War II hero Captain America in the Reagan-era, and how hero-status necessitated the definition of "oneself as an entity separate from the powers that be" and a transcendence of "traditional notions of law, order, and justice" (916). Essentially, it is found that superheroes in the eighties do not earn hero status through individual heroic actions as much as their feats are labelled as heroic in relation to systems of belief in order and justice, as opposed to a strict moral code. This will be a helpful resource for my project. It's scholarly and credible and discusses Captain America in the eighties, but other ideas about Daredevil and Batman might also prove useful early in my project to help establish the relationship between popular culture icons and political ideology.
