(A Driver for Vera, 2004): I noticed that it was more towards a general and his family and then a young sergeant becoming a chauffer for the family. But the sergeant didn't realize he was more of a spy supervisor, potential suitor for the generals daughter Vera.
(The Mirror, 1975): The lifestyle portrayed in this movie is around a Alexie and his memories from young life through adult. More about his life and families work and what they did up to the war.
2. Did you notice the living conditions?
(A Driver for Vera, 2004): The general and his family lived lavished. With a nice staircases, kitchen, living area, and study,etc.
(The Mirror, 1975): The family lived on the countryside. So basically a farm house with a barn from is grandpa. But also in the movie how it jumps from year to year that it is seen to be in an apartment with his sister. I can say they also lived comfortable.
3. What did you learn about work in Russia or in the Soviet Union?
(A Driver for Vera, 2004):

For both it just showed me that the work was hard because of the war. Very chaotic for families but also brought bad memories to Alexie. Also brought relationship problems in Vera's life. But also in that movie that plots to take down the general.
4. How did the characters spend their free-time?
(A Driver for Vera, 2004): They would drive around and fall in love or they would be having relationship problems.
(The Mirror, 1975): Well I really didn't notice what he would do on his free time, because it is a movie that shows his past and his families but giving the personal memories.
5. What did you notice about relationships with parents, spouse, children and friends?
(A Driver for Vera, 2004): To me I saw how relationship are today as in famly. The daughter and father argued when she got pregnate with someone but then eventually got over it was pushing for the driver and his daughter to get together. As a father would. The daught would always go to him for comfort or anything.
(The Mirror, 1975): It shows that the family had a good relationship throughout the flashbacks and all. It did show the hardships that they went through but it didn't set them back.

For both I notice that the actors expressed so much motions to bring out what they are trying to portray. By showing true love in relationships or by how they are feeling inside, Like the Mirror movie he showed expression of how he felt during teh flashbacks and future of his life. In the A Drive for Vera every actor showed the true feelings of how the general reacted and how the relationship between the driver and daughter had plus the maid. (Sorry the Vera movie was kinda har dto interpret in cases)
7. Can you compare your life to the lives in the Russian/Soviet films? What was different?

Both movies I can't relate to my life in ways that one my parents never sent anyone to spy on me or have I ever hired someone to spy on them. But in the other movie I can kinda related in just ways of living and having similarities from the flashbacks. I have heard of stories rom others that they could possible relate to.
8. A broad question.
I would say that the life or lives are different for everyone. Not everyone has the same story of what happened to them in the war times or what happened to them in th epast. Many can relate in ways of their parents and their pasts. Even for me I can tell them that it is completely different from the US and Russia. We hav edifferent ways of doing certain things as families or as a whole.
Sorry if this confuses anyone. I had a litte hard time trying to understand the movies but also sound right onto here.
