Purpose / Job Context

UGA is wanting to further improve the processes used for recruitment, selection and induction to ensure that all departments follow the policies and procedures with this important key result area. This new role will be to provide support to departments when they are hiring staff to enable the University to meet its high educational standards as a quality provider of Higher Education.

Key Responsibilities

· assist departments with the development of job descriptions for all positions.

· provides support in the recruiting, selecting, orienting through face to face meetings and telephone and email support

· Prepares new recruits for work by supporting the orientation and training programs.

· Reviews and puts forward recommendations to management on recruitment, selection and induction processes.

· Coordinates database records associated with recruitment, selection and induction

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional activities.

Job-specific Skills

· current knowledge of recruitment selection and induction processes

· intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· strong organisation and time-management skills

· high-level of attention to detail

· ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks appropriately

· excellent English written skills

· understanding of Human Resources and the legislation

· work experience in a human resource capacity would be desirable

Qualifications

Training

· Diploma in HR, Business, or Leadership or

· Certificate IV in TAE

(applicants can be nearing completion)

· Diploma or Certificate IV in other qualifications
