Company Name: XYZ Company
Company Location: Company Address
Project Sponsor: Dr. Mary Smith, VP of Information Technology Dr. Smith is fluent in written and oral English
Sponsor’s Location: NY, NY
Business Description: XYZ Company is a private research university located in New York City. The MASY degree program is built on a unique curriculum designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain strong management and leadership skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of current information technologies.
Project Information
Project Goal: The goal of the project is to create a computer-based tool to perform Term Frequency Analysis Modules in the Jamovi R interface program
Projected business benefit of the project: The client will be able to have full access and a documented user manual for the Jamovi module. The module can be used on both Windows-based PCs and Apple Macs, thereby eliminating the difficulty of locating an appropriate platform. Students who use the module for Term Frequency Analysis will benefit from the module as a teaching tool. In addition, this module can be used by those conducting research. Lastly, the project is cost-effective and does not incur additional expenses.

Project Brief description: The project is about developing a Term Frequency Analysis Module. Using the knowledge, I received from the MASY program at NYU SPS, this project involves creating a brand-new module that meets the same specifications requirements and makes sure it is finally able to operate properly for a client. The final deliverables of the project must meet the client's requirements, which include ease of use as a teaching tool and use for research. Additionally, the final delivery day required the installation guide and user manual for the module.
Relationship to the client: Dr. Mary Smith is a friend of a friend
Project objectives and Metrics for measuring project success Objective 1 – Convert the discussions with the client into a detailed specification,
including all the features and functions of this module by end of course. Measurement: Deliver the typed-document in mid-June and discuss any changes with the client.
Objective 2 – Build a Jamovi add-on that performs a Term Frequency Analysis Module by end of course. Measurement: Delivery in R language app by end of the semester.
Objective 3 – The creation of a Git Hub repository for the final project files and deliverables by end of course.
Measurement: Create a link for Git Hub with all the module files and deliverables so that anyone can access it for a term frequency analysis. As a final step, submit the link before the semester ends.
Objective 4 – Provide Jamovi users with an add-on that is ready for installation and has clear instructions by end of course. Measurement: Deliver the module, installation guide, and user manual by the end of the semester.
Objective 5 – Use data sets specified by the client to test the validity of the algorithm.
Measurement: I will deliver a final product by the end of the semester so that the functionality of the product can be demonstrated in the presentation.
My role in the project: I will be: the project manager for this project. I will define the project scope, set schedules,
develop the project plan, and coordinate the project.
4 Sample Proposal
The Communication manager: I will be responsible for all the communication with the stakeholders. I will finally present the project to stakeholders.
The person who conducts the project: o All steps in the project must be well documented as the project progresses and
comes up with summary progress reports weekly. o The final deliverable must be in working code as an installable module, as well as
instructions for installation and use. o Ensuring the final project files and supporting documentation to be delivered via
an accessible GitHub repository. As a project manager of this project:
o Managing the progress of the project within the timeline and ensure that the
project finish on time. o Building strong communication channel with the client and the sponsor to get
them involved. o Setting up regular meeting with the client to ensure clients were being updated
the most recent information, progress, and issues about the project. (If there are issues about the project, looking for the solutions in common with the client)
Proposed duration: The project will start on Februay1, 2021 and final version will be delivered on May 4 ,2021. Approximately 275 hours in total.
Resources Required: Detailed information about the how to build Jamovi module. List of required R packages for development of this module.
Learning Anticipations
Areas of study in the MS program that would be covered by the project:
1. Project Management. For this project, I will be the project manager. I will initiate the project, plan, execute, monitor/control and close the project. Similar to what I did in PM class
2. RPM: I will need to use the skills I learned in my RPM class to conduct my research and make them into a research paper format. I will also practice the research method discussed in class to do the market research.
5 Sample Proposal
3. Data Visualization: . I will use the skills that I learned in this course (R and Jamovi)
Anticipated Learning outcomes: Project management skills Programming Language: R
Anticipated Project Findings:
Potential solutions: There are two patches of the Jamovi environment which are 1.2.27 and 1.6.13(both mac and windows), the former one is solid and recommend for most users and the second one is the most current one. This project will use the latter one as the base environment to develop module and may quickly adapt by the future users.
Limitations: Creating a program with such platform required lots of expertise knowledge and the
ability to adapt the changes such as the packages updates, developing environment changes and any other external affections. It is hard to always build the best performance apps right on time, but sooner after the project finished, it will require frequently updates.
This project would perform Term Frequency Analysis Module on Jamovi.
