INTRODUCTION

Happy Mama Piñata is a small business that will provide customers with a high-quality piñata

for their event. The goal of the business is to make an item that is completely customizable and

designed to the customer’s vision. Happy Mama Piñata specializes in exaggerated piñatas that

exceed customer satisfaction. The overall mission to put a smile of the face of our customers and

make our product the life of every party!

VALIDATION

Happy Mama piñata compared to competitors is a one of a kind business here in South Florida.

The services provided by Happy Mama piñata are not offered anywhere else. After conducting

market research on the type of service the company will provide, the only true competitors are

found in online markets. Happy Mama piñata’s relatable competitors are Party City, Party Max,

Target, Wal-Mart and other small local business that have relatable merchandise but no

customization over any of the products sold by these companies. Online markets that offer

similar services are Etsy, Amazon and business like the ones previously mention that sell

products online. These businesses, however, fail to offer the ability to customize and design

unique products based on creativity and the general idea of the customer. There is no true

competitor for this business.

PROTOTYPE & TEST SALES/PRE-SALES

Sales will be conducted mainly via Social Media and direct order. An Etsy account has also been

made to market products already made with the option for special customization. Customers can

visit Happy Mama piñata’s Instagram page and see what has been made but overall be able to

order products based on inspirational photos, ideas, and event theme. The customization of the

piñatas is what really sells the product. As oppose to finding something already made Happy

Mama piñata will offer the customer the ability to create their own unique pinata for their event

unlike anything offered anywhere else or in a store. Sales have been successful via Instagram.

Happy Mama piñata is a sole proprietorship. The owner runs, manages and handles the whole

business. Taxes paid for the business are included in the owner’s personal tax fillings. Items sold

have a regular tax fee added to their invoices.

debit card is used to pay expenses and purchase materials.

OPERATING PLAN

Happy Mama Piñata operates in an office of a large warehouse in Hialeah. There it’s been

established as an additional entity to a prop company that manufactures larger props for bigger

events. Piñata are made using their equipment and machinery for a small fee. Designs are made

through a special program on a personal computer. Shipments are made through regular postal

mail and most business is local, and customers tend to pick up their order.

 Order fulfillment: Happy Mama Piñata orders are made through its social media page, Etsy,

Email or in person by visiting the office. Orders that are to be shipped use regular ground

shipping.

 Payment: Happy Mama Piñata accepts payments via the $CASH or Venmo app, Personal

banking transfer systems like ZELLE, and PayPal.

 Technology: Laser cutting machine services provided by a larger company. Personal laptop

Happy Mama piñata markets mainly through social media. Affiliation with Elf’s Prop Shop also

serves as a major form of marketing. The company supplies event planners with major props and

when they come to the warehouse they pick up interest in Happy Mama piñata because it’s an

add on to their event. Most of Happy Mama piñata’s customers have been adopted by word of

mouth. As people attend events that purchase a piñata, it adopts more and more customers. The

quality and the beauty of the item advertises itself. Happy Mama piñata also offers incentives to

first time buyers like a 20% off.

ABOUT ME

Yusimi

For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for arts and crafts. My friends and family constantly

relied on me and asked me for help to put together our family parties. One day a friend brought a piñata to me

she had purchased online. It looked nothing like the product description or like the picture of what she could

expect. She asked me to use my crafting skills to transform the piñata. The transformation was a success and it

was the talk of the party. After that day I had people reaching out to me on my personal Instagram page to ask

me to make piñatas for them. Since then I decided to turn my hobbies into a small business I now call Happy

Mama Piñata. Behind the scenes of my production I am a mom and a teacher. Both require also my creativity

and have become my muse for my projects. I put all my passion into my work. I like to create unique things and

make my customers happy. I love the wow factor and the faces I get when they receive their piñata.
