Smart Goal for clinical

I worked in a psychiatric clinic and these were my goals and objectives:

1.      Goal: Develop advanced mental status examination skills by the end of practicum

a.      Objective: perform mental status exam on all patient encounters

b.     Objective: identify potential mental and behavioral disorders using mental status exam

c.      Objective: interpret results of mental status examination

2.      Goal: Develop the knowledge and skills to Formulate psychiatric diagnoses independently y the end of practicum

a.      Objective: demonstrate advanced techniques in performing focused assessment necessary for making diagnosis 

a.      Objective: Utilize laboratory, physical assessment, and patient's concerns to develop psychiatric differential diagnosis for patient encounters 

b.     Objective: apply advanced assessment skills in making and prioritizing psychiatric differential diagnosis

3.      Goal: Develop the knowledge and skills for selecting appropriate psychiatric screening instruments by the end of practicum

a.      Objective: apply advanced techniques and effective communication skills in interviewing patients.

b.     Objective: Utilize advanced knowledge in understanding various psychiatric screening instruments

c.      Objective: demonstrate advanced techniques in implementing psychiatric screening instruments
