In Ireland they passed a bill that will curb excessive drinking. Ireland is number 12 in the world for most alcohol consumed per adult. Excessive alcohol in Ireland is causing the death of a least three people a day. The bill includes a minimum price per unit, restrictive advertising, separating alcohol from retail areas, and putting cancer warning signs on each bottle. This bill is to hope for lowering excessive drinking in Ireland and to save lives. Scotland was the first to try to regulate alcohol more in hopes of saving lives and Ireland is the second to join in.
Sample2:
https://sndcontrol.com/why-does-alcohol-and-music-make-the-perfect-team/
A study was performed in relation to music and the amount of alcohol people consume. The study shows that any type of background music increases the amount of money spent and alcohol consumed by individuals. Also, loud music dampens the effect of alcohol on people, meaning that the individuals forget about how much they drank or how strong the drink was. So with the two performers that came into class, he might drink on stage because of his strong involvement with the music. He is closer to the speakers as well meaning that he's experiencing the loud music.
Sample3:
https://www.foodandwine.com/cocktails-spirits/differences-between-tequila-mezcal
In class we talked about the difference between Mezcal and Tequila. Because of marketing tactics these two alcohols are commonly thought of as the same thing. They both are made from a plant called agave. All tequilas are mezcals but mezcals are not all tequilas, these two alcohols are made from different types if agave. Mezcal is typically made from more of a variety. Tequila is typically used by steaming the agave and then distilling it, and Mezcal is cooked inside earthen pits that are lined with lava rocks and wood/charcoal then distilled in clay pots. Lastly, mezcal is the alcohol that has a worm in the bottom, which is a misconception that we talked about in class.

The article that I have chosen is entitled "Loud Music is Scientifically Proven to Make You Drink More" and I find it to be very compelling. The study was in 2008 in France, but the article was published more recently in 2017. The research group concluded that there was a 31% increase in drinking with louder music. Also, when the music was faster, people would naturally drink faster. I find this to relate to what we have learned in class because the guest speakers discussed how drinking and music goes hand in hand. The environment of having loud music pumps people up and makes them want to drink, and the guest speakers who perform in bars and this article informed that.
