Barnes Reports (2015). 2015 U.S. capital & expenses outlook. Retrieved from: EBSCOhost Business Source Complete - This document is a report on the audio/video production industry. It specifically looks at factors such as number of employees in companies, the amount spent with in the video production industry in each state of the United States from 2012 projecting to 2016. The beginning of the report showed slow, but steady increase in single digit percentages of the amount of employees in the industry and the sales. The entire report is extremely thorough in its records and charts. It shows the three year patterns in order to make accurate estimates of what is being done and where the film and video production industry is going. The statistics about different-sized studios/ companies are helpful for looking at what a mid-sized studio can expect in terms of equipment spending and profit. The precise numbers and percentages in this report will strongly support the argument for buying more equipment.
GE Real Estate provides 28.5 million for Toronto film studio. (2007). Mortgage Banking. 67(13), 170. Retrieved from EBSCOhost Business Source Complete. - In this article, Mortgage Banking talks about GE Real Estate’s investment in the Toronto based film studio, FILMPORT. FILMPORT is part of Toronto Studios Inc. and has grown financially and increased capital. This article tells that the GE Real Estates’ decision to make a cash investment in FILMPORT has proved mutually beneficial for the companies. This article proves that investing money or resources into a small or mid-sized film studio, increases financial gain. Concise writing is used, by the author to explain the situation smoothly in this trade publication. However, better detail could have been used to describe exactly the negotiations of the investment and what FILMPORT did with the money in order to profit. Business partnerships are shown as a key to expansion in this useful article. Though the film company is what this research is looking at, the article itself is more about finance. Thus the article would be better if it went into more detail about the benefits that the deal brought to GE Real Estate.
Telecommunications Services - Quarterly Update 6/13/2016. (2016). First research industry profiles, 1-18. Retrieved from (Business) ProQuest. - This accurate, domestic, trade journal covers the statistics and projections of major television and internet providers from 2006 through 2020. It shows the progress, turnover and profits of small, medium and large companies. It shows more for smaller companies, but steady revenue, as well as wage increases across the board for those in the telecommunication industry. Thoroughly covering valid statistics of select companies, markets and profits, this report is weak in other areas. It is a good source to show the longitudinal growth of companies, especially those who are serving as a platform for television and internet content. For my report this would be useful to prove that our growth would be good to show to potential clients from these companies with even larger growth. The point on technological advance and consumer spending helping production companies is a useful point, making some parts of this report useful.
