There are multiple solution strategies to achieve more "favorable characterizations" in TV of under and misrepresented people. I think the characters of under and misrepresented people should break bounds and stereotypes that they may normally have in everyday life. They do not have to be the main character or the most kind, funny, beautiful, smart, successful. These traits are rather irrelevant. I think these characters should hold stories, truth, realness, and power. They should be relatable and understood by an audience. Furthermore, for under or misrepresented people, their characters should speak for them and represent them where they are suppressed. I think in order to bring warmth to an "ingroup" they must feel as though they can  relate, empathize, and understand the character on screen and the dynamic of that individuals life. Furthermore, their stories should not be shed in a dark or negative light. It should should truth and beauty, and that is favorable characterization.

There are many solution strategies that I would recommend to achieve more "favorable characterizations" in TV of under and misrepresented people. First, we can have some famous Black, Latino or Asian celebrities come to the night shows or talk shows to talk about their underrepresented stories. In addition, I recommend producing more TV shows such as This is Us that helps create positive images of underrepresented groups. The show This is Us is a great example that transforms "negative representations of underrepresented group" into a more "favorable characterizations". Within more and more media exposures for the underrepresented groups, it becomes easier to achieve more "favorable characterizations" in TV of under and misrepresented people.

Achieving more "favorable characterizations" unfortunately seems to be much more difficult than anticipated. You would think in 2019 we would see much more equality across the board regarding human race, but that sad truth is, we do not. I feel the number way to end this favorable characterizations is to stop using race as a way to portray stereotypes. Stereotypes are a horrible way to portray someone, as many times those ideas and representations are very false and untrue. I feel if we switch things up and use many different races to play different and important roles in films and TV, there would be much more favorable characterizations.
