Cybersecurity is important to people, businesses, and governments because it helps in keeping data secure from potential cyberattacks. The are many challenges facing the cybersecurity industry today because of the increased sophistication of cybercrimes. Cybercrime intelligence can be used as a part of the solution to addressing cybersecurity issues (Riesco, Larriva-Novo, & Villagrá, 2020). Security teams can routinely explore existing cybersecurity vulnerabilities to improve data and information security.

Cybersecurity should be properly planned and directed to ensure that organizations are secured from potential cybercrime threats. Strategic threat intelligence should be done in order to have an overview of the threat landscape of an organization, business, individual, or government. Cybersecurity threat intelligence is important in doing an evaluation of options available needed to increase data security effectiveness (Riesco, Larriva-Novo, & Villagrá, 2020). Using threat intelligence information data security teams are able to increase security effectiveness.
