Statement of Purpose(SOP)

“Time and tide wait for no man”, this we all know. Having done an inspiring four-year course Bachelors in Software Engineering. I would like to put to use this knowledge to do my Masters in Computer Science. This would give me the leading edge in technology and the practical low-down and the information I require. For the past few decades man is advancing in to the unknown realms of science and technology. This advancement is to make life easy and to increase human comfort at home and at work and I would like to be an integral part of such betterment. For this, research would be of prime importance with hands on experience in real time Applications accompanied by in-depth knowledge of the subject.Technology,today,means power in the widest sense of tem and merely the power of mind. And it is this power potential that has given it the status it now enjoys.

Right from my childhood I had a strong inclination to be a Computer Science Engineer. My interest in the subject has grown with each passing year and it has reached where even Masters will not quench my thirst for knowledge. I have come to terms with the fact that there is an enormous proportion of subject to be assimilated. I want to take up a research oriented course for my career.

A natural aptitude for mathematics, a sense of logic, analytical ability, capacity for diligent work and high academic credentials secured me a place in SRM University. My interest towards mathematics and computers are the main aspects in selecting computer engineering as my stream. Through the SRMEEE a common entrance examination secured me a place in SRM University one of the best Universities in India. I have done my graduation in SRM University which had exposed me to the computer world and it taught me all about the computer basics and programming and here I came to know how the programming is important in the computer field to develop an application The four years curriculum exposed me to the entire gamut of computer courses thus laying a strong foundation for both my Hardware and Software fundamentals.I have also gained knowledge in C,C++ and Java.

I had taken up courses on Software Engineering,Component Based Technologies, Computer Networks, Data Structures, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Design Patterns, Network Security, ,Microprocessors, Grid Computing, Theory of Computation, Digital Computer Fundamentals.. etc. this program has converted my initial zeal into deep fascination for the subject and motivated me to pursue graduate study.

Having hands of knowledge in the theoretical part would be incomplete without practicality. With visual basic we as a group of 4 have done a mini project “INSTANT MESSENGER” a basic chat application. This mini project was the main reason that attracted me a lot to the practical knowledge. With interest in the field of networks. With interest in the field of networks I have done my final year project “Authenticated Anonymous Secure Routing For MANETS in Adversarial Environments” in the final year under the guidance of Mrs. T. Shiny Angel. It hides the Source node identities to the destination node with in networks. The final year project has helped me in improving my programming skills, logical thinking and came to know the importance of team work.

I have done my Internship at “HCL INFOSYSTEMS LTD” in Dotnet(.NET) technology and developed a small application. I have worked as an assistant programmer for the duration of one month. I have gained the knowledge about the dotnet framework. Since, I don’t want to restrain to one particular area and wanted to expand my knowledge I have attended workshops related to ethical hacking, network security.

Beside my academics, I am also an active participant in the department activities and also an active member in “AARUSH 12” a national level tech fest and we also organized several events like computer gaming activities, sports and debates and also a committee member in the HR and Finance team. I was also the school champion in cricket.

Once I have done my Masters I would most likely wanted to setup my own organization and be an entrepreneur and carry research in the field of networking and improve the technologies in the field of network management, network virtualization. The concept that I liked the most is the cloud networking. These are the fields that I want to concentrate more.

I wanted to do my Masters in USA because it had become the centralized one in the computer technology and many technologies have been discovered there. There are many successful organizations through which we will be having an exposure and able to expand our professional knowledge with the international standards.

Finally, I trust that the Masters degree at “UNIVERSITY OF NORTH AMERICA ” will be guiding me with your faculty, intense curriculum and precious history of success and multi-faceted learning environment and it would be the ideal place to shape up my career, I feel grateful if I were associated with you in completion of my Masters degree. I will do my best in order to excel in this field.
