Peer Response 2
1. Review your peers' response and assume the role of the fire department. Looking over your peer’s plan to rectify and monitor the situation, would this facility now pass inspection? Thoroughly explain why it would or would not pass and provide your peer with additional suggestions to make their plan even better.
1. Responses to peers may not be in the form of “I agree… good post”. One or two sentence replies are not adequate. Responses must go further in depth and must be supported with specific, personal experience, relevant textual connections, and/or alternate perspectives and questions. 100 word-replies would be an appropriate recommended guideline.
PEERS POST:
Hello Class-
The three infractions that I chose were. Non-working smoke alarms, Hazardous materials found within reach of children (Bleach), and No fire escape route plan in multiple rooms. Those are significant infractions because they're critical for the safety of the children if there were a fire they wouldn't know and they wouldn't know where they are to go in case of a fire. Leaving a chemical down where children could possibly ingest it is a big no-no and very harmful.
There will be a plan with the director to make sure that a map is drawn up and is put out in each room so then everyone has a picture and then they will also have a walk-through of where the children and teacher go when a fire happens. There will also be more practices of fire drills so that everyone knows what to do. With the smoke alarms the administrator and director will go through and have the fire chief come through and go over all the fire alarms to make sure that they are all working and replace the ones that are not. Everyone will go through training to make sure that everyone is in knowledge that all cleaning bottles are to be put up and out of reach of the children and the director and administrator will go through and make sure that all are following the procedure and making sure all chemicals are up and out of reach of children and if someone is not up to par then they will get in trouble because chemicals are not supposed to be in the reach of children and the center will keep getting in trouble for it if not taken the right way.
The three infractions are going to be monitored by a check sheet and each day and or week someone will go through the center and mark what is correct and what needs to be worked on or what may be getting missed. They will continue till they get it right before the nest licensing visit to make sure all rules and guidelines are being met and followed so that they pass and have no more issues after that.
