Summary of the Unit's Content

1 Students will work in groups to discuss various character traits that

their character has displays. Students will collaborate to create a

PowerPoint of at least 4 slides with sentences explaining the character

that displays these traits throughout the book.

Students will rejoin their groups after completing their PowerPoint

presentations creating a timeline of their person's thoughts throughout

the story.

The Unit's Mission

Students will create a character sketch for a character from Charlotte's

Web.

2 Using a PowerPoint, make a list of character traits. 1 The students will

be dressed as the personalities while delivering the character trait

PowerPoint presentation. Students will also create a timeline of events

during the year and their personalities by working on a booklet with their

peers.

Description

1. 1 Review with students the meaning of a character and describe what a

character trait is.

2. 1 Review parts of Charlotte's Web by enlisting the help of several

people and go over what has been read or happened in the previous

chapter.

3. 1 Today, we will talk about some of the main characters of the

story. Call several students.

The pupils will discuss the key characters. 1 (Charlotte, Wilbur, Fern,

Templeton, Henry, Uncle, Some of the other Animals.) 4. Create a

character list on the board. 1 Students should be taking notes in their

groups.

5. Ask pupils to write down one character attribute for each

character. 1 "Can you name a Wilbur character trait?" Students might

respond that he is afraid or lonely.

6. 1 Assign a character to each category after describing one character

attribute for each.

7. 1 Using a visual organizer, the group will brainstorm character

attributes.

8. 1 Students will proceed to the computers once they have finished

brainstorming.

9. 1 Students must create a PowerPoint containing at least four slides of

character traits for each character. Include a phrase from the novel that

describes the character's character trait on the slides.

10. The group will present the PowerPoint to the class once it has been

finished.

11. 1 Allow students to go to their seats and watch a short video on the
