1 The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Name Institution

Introduction For years, successive Saudi Arabian governments have tried to find ways of reducing the dependence of the country on oil.

The oil forms a huge part of the Kingdom’s economy.

The country is a major exporter of oil in the world.

There is no doubt that most of the oil producing countries in the world are rich except for a few that have failed to put in proper mechanisms that can help in managing the oil resource. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has successfully managed to put in measures that have enabled it to utilize the capital that comes from the sale of the oil products. However, while doing so, the population and the government have neglected other important sectors(Neil & Sprusansky,2017). There are other important sectors that have remained untapped for years. This realization is what prompted the Saudi vision 2030 in an effort to reduce the dependence on oil. Thus, the unveiling of this important plan was one of the greatest milestones to ensure the reduction of dependence on oil.

Through the vision, Saudi aims to build a sustainable and prosperous economic future for its population by focusing on the policies and strengths of the Kingdom. 2 The details of the Saudi vision 2030 were first availed to the public by the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman(Neil & Sprusansky,2017).  The Council of Economic and Development Affairs will be the one in charge of ensuring the achievement of the vision through monitoring and identification of measures and proper mechanisms that are required. According to research, the oil contributes between 30-40 percent of Saudi Arabia’s total GDP. There is also another population that depends so much on the oil distribution in Saudi Arabia. Many successive governments in Saudi Arabia have always aimed at reducing this dependence.

In Level one, all the issues relating to the vision are supposed to be addressed by the relevant executive ministries in charge of implementing the initiatives and programs. If it is impossible for the office to handle the issue, the information is supposed to be handed to the Strategy Committee for a resolution(Neil & Sprusansky,2017). At Level Three, the Strategy Committee on its discretion decides on any matters that have been forwarded to it by the Strategic Management Office. 1 The strategy Committee can alternatively decide to refer the matter to the Council of Economic and Development Affairs for a resolution.  In Level Four, all the raised issues are supposed to be referred to the Council of Economic and Development Affairs for a decision.
