A denial-of-service is any form of attack whereby the individuals involved (attackers) make an attempt to make sure that they have been able to prevent the legitimate users of the service from accessing it. In any DoS attack, the individuals conducting the attack usually send a lot of messages that ask the available network or server to give authenticity to the messages that have invalid return addresses (Van Trung et al., 2015).

It is important to come to a realization that DDoS attacks are growing because the attackers have been able to come up with better and more complex ways of amplifying their impact. Not all DDoS cases are reported. 2 SOME OF THE ORGANIZATIONS WHO ARE VICTIMS OF DOS ATTACKS INCLUDE THE HIGH-PROFILE ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS MEDIA, COMMERCE AND BANKING COMPANIES. The government and trade organizations can also be victims too.

DDoS Attack In April 2019, Imperva was able to report one of the largest PPS on one of their clients. The newest attack was reported to peak at around 580 million PPS. This is considered the highest DDos attack compared to the one of the GitHub DDoS attacks that took place in January and recorded to peak at 129.6 million PPS. The main aim of this attack was to deplete the computer and network resources present in the organization. When this happens the services of the organization become unavailable and outage takes place (Impreva, 2019).

The most demanding attacks that affect most organizations are the high-volume of PPS attacks. For an organization to be able to mitigate the most demanding attacks that usually affect the PPS, there is a need for having multiple network hardware and other essential resources that prevent them. To prevent any DDoS attacks, the organization has to come up with a prevention plan that is based on a strict security assessment; put in place multi-level protection strategies; make sure as an organization you engage in strong security practices to avoid any form of compromise; focus on secure network architecture and make sure that you understand some of the warning signs of DDoS attack such as intermittent website shutdowns and network slowdowns within the organization (Zargar et al., 2013).
