Hello Class,
In Unit II we focused on
understanding training
needs. Specifically, we
discussed the needs
assessment process and the
overall of the process. We
learned that the needs
assessment is critical in
determining the design and
details of the training
approach and methods to be
used within a particular
organization.
As we now approach Unit
III, let’s prepare ourselves to
focus on behavioral and
cognitive learning.
Specifically, what impact
these factors have on
training and the outcome of
training. We will also
discuss other factors that
impact training and one’s
ability to learn. Focus will
also be placed on the fact
that not all individuals learn
in the same manner or by
the same methods.
In addition, I have included some optional reading materials that could be used to assist you in understanding some of the key topics discussed in this unit.

parties helping to make safety a
priority. The effectiveness of the
safety training will depend on how
prepared the participants are for
the training and their perception of
the training.

the case study in the textbook.
