Facebook was founded in 2004, a total of 13 years ago in the United States by Mark Zuckerberg, who is the CEO of the company. Currently, the site reaches people from outside the United States globally and has helped to improve communication. However, various concerns about the privacy of information posted on Facebook is evident. Due to the nature of the website to display mobile numbers and personal details such as contact addresses, it raises significant privacy concerns. The information of the users is available to the public unless they choose to hide the profile by themselves (Tremayne, 2017).

According to scientific research, the site is known to have detrimental effects psychologically (Tsay-Vogel, Shanahan, & Signorielli, 2016). One of these results is envy, whereby people may engage in insults and hence causing resentment within site. Moreover, there is the risk of stress when people comment negatively or respond to different aspects negatively. It is also evident that there is a potential addition to the site, and many people do not engage in their daily activities just to use the site.

Controversies regarding the content on the site are also questionable, since the media has people of different sorts, and following the regulations is not easy for some of these people. Moreover, advertisements are popped on the site, which affects the overall user experience. Students are also affected by the site since they are changed regarding education and the social interactions.
