I would like to practice neonatal nursing in my nursing career. The National Organization of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) is a professional organization specializing in neonatal nursing (Purdy et al, 2017).
The organization aims to offer educational opportunities and professional tips to neonatal nursing or any other neonatal practitioner. Moreover, the content offered is based on professional development and educational needs depending on membership input in the annual conference meetings and education strategic meetings. Those sessions offer advancing tips in neonatal nursing, good leadership skills, and extensive research in the career field.
The mission of the organization
The mission of NANN is to offer educational tips and practice needs within the neonatal nursing career. Also, it allows the nurse to represent their needs globally and connect with more experienced nurses in the field. The mission is achieved through conferences, giving educational materials, and books to neonatal nurses.
The vision of the organization
Their vision is to collaborate with other international organizations in helping mothers and babies. Also, it aims at supporting neonatal nurses in their career field intentionally.
Their goal area includes advocacy, performing research, offering education, and membership engagement to neonatal nurses.
How to become a member of the organization
The organization allows people from all kinds of institutions, career fields, and backgrounds to gain membership. NANN membership offers a saving of ten to twenty dollars to all the neonatal nurses. There is autorenewal of membership dues across nurses of all backgrounds. The membership fee varies based on the condition of the country.
Yes, I would join the organization because of the many benefits that result from being a member. First, every member receives extensive knowledge related to the career because of the educational programs offered. Also, every member gets the opportunity to connect with other neonatal nurses from other places and hence they can share useful information about the career.
