Concept Analysis Paper (individual paper)

Purpose: There are numerous concepts within the discipline of nursing.  Concepts are the building blocks of theory and represent objects, properties, or events within a specific theory.  Conceptual meaning is created to communicate that meaning to readers and to benefit the discipline.  Each concept defines and details its relationship and role within a particular theory.  This paper is to facilitate understanding of the diverse concepts within the theoretical foundations of nursing.

The purpose of this assignment is to perform a formal analysis of one concept found in a nursing theory, utilizing the principles identified by Penrod and Hupcey.  Any concept relevant to nursing may be selected.  Once identified, the student will examine and bring clarity to the definition of the selected concept by means of a review, analysis and synthesis of relevant literature.
