Rubric - Author Discussion AFAS 160
Author Discussions are graded out of a total 50 possible points. The following are the expectations in order for students to receive full credit.
1. Summary Background: The summary is complete yet concise, but is not the majority of the presentation.
2. Textual Analysis: Students should make reference to the readings/ current events and discuss relevant themes.
3. Works Cited: The section includes appropriate and vetted references. 4. Miscellaneous: Student ensures grammar, organization, clarity: Presentation is easy to
read/view. Includes more than just text (ie. video/images).
PLEASE NOTE: If your Author Discussion solely provides an overview of the author and discussion of their work, you or your group will receive an average grade (85). If you fail to include your own video, audio and slides on your recorded Author Discussion, 10 points will be deducted automatically.
Presentation Format: There are two methods of submittal/presentation for this assignment– recorded and live. Please be aware that:
● Recorded discussions must be done individually. ● Live discussions are automatically awarded 10 points extra credit.
