Abstract

The amount of leadership skills a leader has can have a significant impact on an organization's

success. A leader is considered to be the foundation of an organization. If the leader does not

have the proper qualification to ensure a strong and steady foundation, the entire system will fall

apart. The characteristics of a good leader is strong communication skills, charisma, flexibility

Introduction

The foundation of a building is vital in order to support the entirety of a structure. A

strong and steady foundation minimizes the chances of the building completely falling about.

The building represents an organization, while the foundation represents a good leader. A good

leader is the foundation of any successful organization. In reference to a building, there is a list

of materials that creates a strong foundation. As a leader, there are characteristics and traits that

someone in high authority must carry out to support a successful organization.

Leaders must incorporate their knowledge, flexibility, and their personality traits to create

a strong foundation. Peter Drucker’s article a call for leaders explains the knowledge that leaders

should incorporate in their workplace to sustain success within their organization. The impact of

leadership styles can affect an organization's efficiency. There are many different leadership

styles. In this paper, I will discuss the differences and similarities of leadership styles and based

on recent studies, choose which style is the most beneficial to ensure success on the

organizational level.

A Call for Leaders written by Peter Druckert is an easy to read article that explains what

employees really want from their supervisor or leader. Peter mentions with a quick search on the

web looking for leadership skills, there will be a ton of information but any of it will go over

what should be done as a good leader. He then proceeds to list the six natural categories that

employees thought out on what supervisors do that makes them a great leader.

The first category is to share the information. The information should be shared clearly and

everyone should have a better understanding of the point you want to get across. The second

category is keep it real.The article states how information is shared is vital. A leader's demeanor

or use of language and nonverbal skills contribute to credibility. (Druckers 2012) The way you

communicate with your staff shows the amount of respect you have
