The first scholarly article that I chose is written by Moo Jun Hao and Dr. Rashad Yadanifard. The article purposes to explain how effective leadership can assist in facilitating change in firms via innovation and improvement. Using some key words such as Change management, leadership, innovation and Improvement, I conducted a search though the USC library. The primary article was different from other articles because of its structure and organisation of concepts. It explores how leadership impacts other factors, which make it a reliable source of information, when it comes to leadership and change management. The second article was written by Atkinson and Mackenzie in the year 2015.It focuses on exploring the role that leadership plays in change management conducted a search using key words such as leadership and change management through the USC library. In future, I purpose to improve my research by listing down a number of credible library databases and narrowing down some of the search engines to ensure that the scholarly articles that I find are fitting my topic of research.
The exigency of the article written by Atkinson and Mackenzie’s revolves around the fact that effective leadership is instrumental in change management and change can be seen as the only technique required top sustain a business in the contemporary business environment. Under normal circumstances, this article believes that change is challenging for individuals since they tend to feel uncomfortable because of it and in some instances, they might deny it, keep their status quo and be eliminated by the society. One of the Kairos of the article is that, it tends to admit and introduce the fact that leadership is a serious motivator and factor in encouraging and motivating individuals to continuously make change and ensure that they receive it positively. However, despite of its shortcomings in terms of background information and structure, this article is reliable since it offers insights on how leadership can impact change in a business and some of the factors that it affects.
The first article uses the second source to explain the issue of Leadership as a change factor lead. The uses is used to emphasise on how leadership can influence a number of individuals beliefs, values a, behaviours and attitudes. The article backs the argument by indicating that without leadership in any business, there will be no change since the company will be short of leaders that can encourage, motivate and lead the company workers and offer a clear direction as well as guidance for the firm. The argument is related to the main argument of the research since it acknowledges that leadership can help in facilitating change in any organisation through innovation and establishment of necessary improvements.
The articles are credible considering those experts in the field of management and Global Research wrote them from Southern New Hampshire University. By looking up their profile from the university portal, it is possible to realise the credentials they possess in the field. One of the major Biases in these two articles is that both of them focus on a business truism of selling hope. In other words, it is imperative to note those most corporate leaders, consumes and employees possess an inherent bias revolving around optimism. The authors of this article purposes to feel good about themselves and their future prospects as an avenue of protecting their self-esteem in their area of expertise. However, the authors of these article attempts eliminate biases in the article by backing up their claims using different scholarly articles.
