Summary: Blue light is a short wavelength electromagnetic radiation which carries the high amount of energy. The age-related macular degeneration(AMD) is a multifactorial disease and has risk factor including sunlight exposure, age, smoke etc. AMD takes years to develop and progress. There are two filtering lenses; intraocular lenses and spectacle lenses to protect eyes from blue light. The blue light filtering lenses filter short wavelength light and high energy which will affect the eyes.
