There may be parts of American life you wish could be changed, but for this assignment, stick with Whitman's tone of optimism, love, and celebration. Find some aspect of American life that you think is unique or worth celebrating. What kind of people exhibit this characteristic? What images do you associate with it? How does it look, smell, sound, and feel?
