HR Business Partner: Good Morning Claudia, How are you?
Rental Manager: I’m Good thank you, how are you Sir?
HR Business Partner: I’m also good, thank you.
HR Business Partner: So what made you to come here?
Rental Manager: Sir there are some issues and problems going on among the employees from Rentals department. So, I have booked an appointment with you to discuss and to address regarding this matters.
HR Business Partner: Ok, could you please explain what kind of issues and problems have aroused among the employees from Rentals?
Rental Manager: The issue is regarding employees from rental department of the Brisbane branch. Employees are not happy about the plans to restructure the business.
Rental Manager: They are extremely angry and they fear that they will lose their jobs as a result of the restructure. They are also concerned that they will not be given the opportunity to retrain, so they are organizing for a possible strike.
HR Business Partner: Ok, the issues are quiet serious, but I would like to inform you that organization restructures are not intended to fire any rental employees rather JKL Industries firm policy and intention is to retrain rental employees to retain talent by retraining them. This is a major part of organization plan to retain employee and minimize the cost of new recruitment.
HR Business Partner: I also would like to inform you that JKL Industries provide relevant material and explain organizational policies and procedure which covers a wide range of subjects such as employment conditions, work health and safety(WHS), technical processes, communication procedure, performance review and security arrangements. Organization also ensures that team members are aware of the organization’s policies and procedure so they can consistently work within the organization’s requirements and help both the team and the organization operate smoothly. Some of the policies and procedure of JKL Industries are workplace and health safety, Anti-discrimination Act, Fair trading Act, Training legislation and standards, Code of ethic etc.
Rental Manager: This is good news for all the employees of the organization. I am sure this news will give a relief to the entire rental employee and can avoid any forms of employee’s strik
Rental Manager: Sir, there is another issues I would like to express.
HR Business Partner: Ok, you can tell me what the other issue is.
Rental Manager: Sir, rental employees are unhappy about their pay. They feel that they are underpaid because they know that people in the same job in the same industry are making much more.
HR Business Partner: This is because employees are not aware of companies’ policies and procedure. I would like to inform you that the employees are paid to the terms of the relevant modern award (MA000089 Vehicle Manufacturing, Repair, Services and Retail Award 2010) and also sooner all the employees will be able to negotiate possibly much better pay and conditions in upcoming enterprise bargaining.
Rental Manager: That’s really great news for all the employees of the organization. This news will sure help in retention of employees.
Rental Manager: Also I would like to ask some suggestion regarding approaching the conflict, since I don’t have productive mindset to approach the conflict it becomes very difficult to handle disputes between team members.
HR Business Partner: Regarding to manage conflict resolution you can organize action plans where you can arrange meeting with the employees and then can discuss related to the issues praised in the workplace, after proper discussion both can come to the solution by mutual decision.
Rental Manager: Thank you sir for your advice, I will try to adapt your said procedure to resolve conflict between employees.
HR Business Partner: I hope now all your issues are resolved and can be able to handle the situation very well.
Rental Manager: Yes certainly Sir, thank you for explaining and resolving the issued a raised among rental employees. The new business plan can be helpful to both employee and organization.
