Introduction.

Environmental advocacy can be described as investigating, developing, and providing or presenting adequate information about nature or any other issues regarding environmental changes that are decidedly opinionated to encourage the intended audiences to adopt environmentally sensitive and friendly attitudes as biocentric global views. With the increased use of technology, much has changed in drastic climatic change and environmental degradation. These changes have attracted the attention of the world, both active governments/states and non-governmental as well as a non-profit organization to heed to the mission and vision of rallying the entire world to adopt measures that that will see the restoration of world climatic and environmental sustainability "Natural resources defense council," 2017, p. xx). The essence of many existing environmental advocacy groups is to create environmental awareness since it is the most incredible and important asset and part of human lives. It is good to note that in order to protect the sustainability of our planet, there is a great need for everyone to commit their efforts towards initiating actions that will ensure our environment is healthy for both human beings and animal existence.

Literature review.

Environmental degradation has become one of the world's major concerns over the last few years. There have been reported negative and devastating effects of the climatic changes as well as environmental degradation, which have jeopardized the long-term security and health of humans, animals, and plants. Such effects have necessitated the emergence of environmental advocacy groups and organizations to facilitate the spread of ideas and concepts that will increase environmental awareness to restore its normalcy. Among this advocacy are;

Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) was established by a group of law students and attorneys with its focus on fighting for the sustainability of the environment "Natural resources defense council," 2017). Its main mission is safeguarding the earth via its well-designed offices that offer effective support and perhaps provide the cleanest energy that can be sourced. Its guiding light is based on the philosophy that builds and acts harmoniously with nature and as part of the ecosystem. Natural Resources Defense Council group has done a lot to accomplish its missions by protecting the earth: its plants, people, animals, and other natural systems on which human and animal depend on. Moreover, much has been done by the said group to ensure that there is a restoration of the integrity of elements such as land, air water as well as provide protection of the most endangered natural places "Natural resources defense council," 2017).

Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is one of the environmental advocacy groups that has worked towards achieving its vision and mission. One of the greatest achievements made by the said group was the contribution it made in 1973 that led to the passage of the clean water act. In 1974, It also initiated actions that led to the phase-out of lead in gasoline. Perhaps the organizations successfully achieved the initiative that required coal plants to take the responsibility of controlling levels of pollution in a bid to prevent acidic rain. Perhaps Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) primary policy has been targeting its efforts' towards fight continuous climatic change, restoration of oceans original status s well as promoting clean energy usage to reduce indiscriminate sorts of pollution that have been witnessed over the last few years. However, the organizations have faced several challenges and among these include overpopulation of the various parts of the world, leading to increased demand for natural resources that threaten the ability of the environment to sustain. Nevertheless, the organization is working hard towards providing sensitization on the importance of understanding the value of sustaining our environment (D'Ambrosi, 2020).

Other than NRDC environmental advocacy group, there is also the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) which was founded in 1919. Its main mission is to protect as well as enhance American’s national parks for both today and future generations. It was established as a nonpartisan voice and an independent organization whose objectives were to address key threats facing the national park system. Since its establishment, the organization has been working with increased vigor in its efforts to combat issues related to the sustainability of national parks (D'Ambrosi, 2020). It has been one of the most powerful independent groups whose focus has been directed towards strengthening and protecting American’s favorite places.

Worth noting about National Parks Conservation Association is that for many years, NCPA has remained committed to fostering a workplace of excellence so as to facilitate the effective achievement of its mission of protecting and enhancing the sustainability of national parks. Its guiding principles and core values of commitments include integrity, inclusion, and respect to promote an ethical, diverse, and innovative culture that will make it a more active and effective organization (Diversegreen., 2015). Its main contributions towards environmental sustainability have been achieved by providing educational concepts to the public and decision-makers on the essence of preserving the parks and the environment at large.

Among the challenges faced by the NCPA as an organization and parks in general include; overcrowding in the national parks, crumbling infrastructure, foreign invaders, climatic change, among many others. Although many challenges face the NCPA, it has a lad working framework that advocates for the actions that support strong climate protections and asks President Joe Biden to ensure the National environmental policy act remains strong (Diversegreen., 2015).
