What company will you research and what makes it interesting from an Operations Management perspective?

I'm going to use Amazon.com as my company for this paper. Amazon is a global firm that uses planning, controlling, coordinating and organizing aspects of operations management. Goldstein (2017) noted that Amazon.com is in the process of creating services and products. Amazon is in the process of offering delivery services for it is an online wholesaler where manufacturers bring their products for selling.

What do you already know about this topic and what research questions do you expect to answer?

I know operations management is about offering efficient services to customers.

What aspects does the firm consider in choosing production system to follow?

What is the influence of leadership on operations management in Amazon.com?

How will timely delivery affect operations management in Amazon.com?

How does the training of employees positively impact the project budgeting process?

What effect has availability of funds have on the efficiency of operations management?

What kinds of sources (for example, company website, annual report, government websites, and library articles) do you plan to use for research?

I plan to use library articles, annual reports and Amazon website for the research. Library articles have been written by scholars who are peer reviewed by global academician panels. According to Slack (2018), annual reports give the true performance of the firm that can give information on how funds have increased efficiency of operations management. Amazon website is a good source of information for plans that have been rolled out by the organization in the operations management sector.

Why are you interested in this topic

Operations management is interesting topic especially when it comes to reviewing the production systems. There are three production systems namely batch, project and continuous production systems. Amazon applies the three systems at different times. Batch systems involves quantities that are transported at one time (Goldstein, 2017). Project systems involves a one time service offered to a customer. Continuous system is the process of offering a flow of services to deliver customers products.
