Once upon a time, there was a naive princess who named Victoria. She was shy and timid, and she is not a friend to all books. One day, Victoria’s father, the King, decided to make her move away from her homeland Taiwan and travel to the United States for her education. The King was so worried and anger of Victoria’s intelligence that he ordered the teachers in California to take care of Princess Victoria. He expected that the move to California would help her to change her attitude, by meeting new people and embracing different lifestyles. But the princess was not particularly excited about the move and she never cared to even pretend she did. In any case, it was not in her place to object and she had to travel by herself anyway. The exciting new things, the tall buildings, and kind people could not provoke the princess’s interest in learning. At the same point, the teachers could not inspire little Victoria to absorb the knowledge on the textbook. They told her to show some efforts so the King would never be mad at her again. Princess Victoria felt hopeless and she cried in a dark room lonely. With the unfamiliar environment and without her family support, she was lost and even more scared. School became her nightmare. During the school time, teachers as if the devils who often complained about her disinterest of classwork and her attitude of opposing almost every rule that was set. But soon, the princess Victoria found herself showered with the support of friends. One day, a bright spark about her age called Stephanie approached her after she joined high school and spoke to her. Stephanie is not only intelligence but also warm-hearted. Stephanie wanted to help the desperate princess from the evil teachers, so she invited Victoria to study with her. They skipped the lunchtime together and stayed in the library for reviewing the challenging math problem. They struck a friendship and they would spend time together. The new school did not turn out to be as exciting as other things but it turned out to be a little bit more fun especially the company of Stephanie. “Maybe friends mean the ones who show their love in times of trouble,” said Victoria. With Stephanie’s help, Victoria made some obvious improvement on her exams and she found the meaning of learning. Back at the castle, the King saw the change that little Victoria made. Happy tears, he wrote a magic letter to boost her confidence and praise her hard working. His plan was to motivate the princess. The letter from her father and the support from her friend awaken Victoria from the study nightmare. Princess Victoria with wisdom and confidence continued on her journey in the United States and lived happily ever after.
