You will now practice using the rhetorical strategies you have learned throughout this module.
Choose ONE of the following prompts:
1) What are three overarching ideas introduced by the founding fathers? How close are we to achieving those ideals today?
2) In what ways are the foundational documents timeless? And in what ways are they products of a specific time and place? Are they primarily historical documents, or are they relevant to the modern era?
The essay should include:
· an attention-grabbing introduction
· a clear and substantial points and proof in the body
· the opposition's point of view and your reasons for disagreeing with the opposition
· a conclusion that reiterates your main points or calls for some action by members of the audience
Requirements:
· 2- 3 pages typed in length - 4 paragraphs minimum.
· It should be formatted in MLA format. (double spaced, Times New Roman or a similar font, 12-point font, correct headings and header, 1-inch margins, parenthetical citations, works cited page, etc.)
· At least 3 quotes from one of the historical documents listed above must be integrated within your paper using proper, MLA-formatted parenthetical citations.
· Remember to write in 3rd person only.
· Create an original title for your essay that is both informative and creative.
Consider the audience, purpose, and tone when choosing what type of language to use. You will also want to incorporate rhetorical strategies into your essay to make it more persuasive.
