Assignment Definition:
In an analysis, writers investigate the various aspects of a text. Describe the rhetor’s message, purpose, and tone. Then analyze the text to show its effectiveness. Questions to address include:
· Who is the intended audience? How does the rhetor effectively reach these people?
· How does the rhetor achieve his/her goals?
· Which rhetorical strategies (Ethos/Pathos/Logos) are successfully employed?
Include quotations and paraphrases from the rhetor’s text, The History and Theory of Rhetoric, and Environmental Communication and the Public Sphere to help support your analysis.
