The rhetorical triangle concept appeals to the audience's sense of humanity, the ability to trust, sentiment, and reasoning. Ethos is important to recognize because it helps you trust the speaker's information and knowledge of the topic. Recognizing pathos will identify how the writer or speaker felt about the subject. Logos tells you whether this is a valid reason for discussing the topic.

The CDC did not present any logic on their overview webpage. I feel the emotional aspect of the CDC webpage influenced the reader; the picture of the child hugging her mother depicts empathy and caring. I feel the creditability for the information on the webpage comes from the .gov address individuals are more inclined to trust a government website. The CDC does not use all three concepts of the rhetorical triangle. I feel the CDC demonstrated pathos and ethos; however, it lacks a display of logos, not presenting any reasoning or logical information.
