Final Project Part 2: Development of the Topic

I decided to narrow down the topic of my final project to focus on humility. I was originally inspired by the parable The Prodigal Son. An example of humility in humanities can be found in the bible in John 13: 1-17 where it describes Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, a work of art by Jacopo Tintoretto: Christ washing the feet of the Disciples, and Luke 7: 36-50 where Mary Magdalene, a known prostitute, anointed Jesus with alabaster oil and washed his feet with her tears and dried it with her hair. I found these works and scriptures relevant because it depicts such selfless acts of humility. Christ did not have to wash the feet of his disciples but he did this to show them how to behave towards one another, and Mary, whom many had cast aside due to her profession, was humble enough to wash the feet of Jesus with tears.
