· From the Unit, Students will be able to understand that learning should not be done blindly but should have a specific goal that it should enable them to accomplish.

· Further, they will understand that any learning they do has its importance and they should study it closely enough to establish the need for grasping its content.

· An understanding that different environments, subjects or people require different communication skills to successfully deal with. They should be able to choose the most suitable technique to approach a situation effectively.

· Students will understand that people understand differently and their communication should be universal enough to be understood by a wide range of audience.

· Students with the knowledge of writing and communication skills will be able to ask themselves the most suitable communication techniques they should use to handle a given situation successfully.

· Before engaging in reading a text, listening or viewing a file or person, students should ask themselves what the theme is, build their assumptions and compare their inferences with the contents as they keep interacting with their subject.

· Students will be able to determine the facial and body expressions required to make a communication environment comfortable and effective in terms of understanding.

Acquisition

· From the unit, students will know that the way they present their information be it written or spoken determines the first reception it gets from the readers and viewers.

· They will also know that they should study the expectations of a presentation well enough before engaging so that they meet its respective requirements.

· Students would be able to always remember that they should select their skills according to the environment that faces them.

· Studying the unit will help students understand that people have different abilities to communicate which will enable them to understand many people who have difficulties in communicating.

· Students will acquire effective and successful reading as well writing skills.

· The unit will enable students to present their ideas successfully in a way that they will be understandable to their audience.
