Importance of maintain a healthy life style
In today’s world healthy lifestyle has been a behavior that people should adopt to ensure that they live a long healthy happy life. Physical health and fitness is an important aspect of ensuring that an individual lives a healthy life and people should strive to obtain the optimal physical health and fitness. Also due to the rampant mental disorders being witnessed in the modern world it has now become a personal responsibility for individuals to ensure that they achieve optimal mental health stability. Due to this factors in the contemporary world most people have gotten into healthy living practices that allow them to be mentally stable and physically fit which is summarized as healthy living (Kumar, 2017). Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is vital to achieve the best physical and mental health which will improve one’s quality of life.
Healthy living is a broad concept that not only touch on physical fitness but also on mental health as one cannot be categorized as being healthy based on the physical fitness or health. For a very long time scientist, doctors, fitness coaches, psychologist and dieticians have encouraged people to enhance their healthy lifestyle in order to prevent the adverse impacts associated to unhealthy lifestyle (Kumar, 2017). It has been proven that most of the chronic diseases or conditions that people are suffering from in today’s world have been caused or contributed to by unhealthy life style. Also unhealthy living practices not only cause physical health issues they also cause mental health problems that result into mental illness or disorders which negatively affects an individual’s quality of life.
Healthy life style composes of a number of factors starting from healthy eating behaviors, exercising, and resting. Having a clean and nutritious diet is essential for the wellbeing of an individual in terms of boosting their immune system, giving the body organs such as the brain the nutritional elements it need to function properly and to have the energy to carry out the daily activities that one has to perform. Exercising on the other hand does not mean the bodybuilders’ type of exercising but it is essential for one to e engage in physical activities either indoors or outdoors which consist of walking, running, jogging, riding a bicycle, exercising on a treadmill or any other type of physical activity (Bryndin & Bryndina, 2017). Exercising enables one’s body and mind to be active which makes it process things such as food and thoughts respectively avoiding in a proper way preventing physical and mental issues.
On the other hand resting is a crucial part of attaining the optimal state of a healthy life but resting does not mean being lazy. One is only allowed to rest if they are tired and not because they do not what to engage in activities. Resting consists of getting enough sleep and taking a break once you feel exhausted from activities (Stonerock & Blumenthal, 2017). Rest is vital for both physical and mental health as exhaustion affects both the body and mind which might be very dangerous if one does not get over it. With exhaustion the body and the mind are unable to function properly and process stress or thoughts which result in an unhealthy state of living.
Chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, blood sugar issues, and heart related conditions among others are contributed to unhealthy lifestyle. in the past years the above mentioned health conditions were rampant among the old generation which was as a result of aging but it is contrary to what is being witnessed in today’s world as more young people becoming victims of these chronic conditions due to unhealthy lifestyles that they indulge in. unhealthy lifestyle have been contributed to by lack of exercising, drinking a lot of alcohol, not getting enough rest and eating unhealthy foods. One becomes prone to the chronic conditions once they start to gain more weight or become overweight (Li et al., 2018). That is why individual are advised to check on their weight by eating healthy and exercising to ensure they are physically fit. Physical fitness is the solution to many health conditions which are affecting people today in the society. It is also important for people to talk about the issues stressing them out either to a psychiatrist or a person they trust and comfortable with as this enables one to release stress hence enhancing mental health.
It is important for one to note that choosing to live a healthy life is not an option for those who want to avoid health complication it is a dedication that they should make a priority. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not an easy task and it calls for dedication, commitment and a lot of sacrifices but it is surely worth. Healthy living calls for one to cut down the amount of food they eat and consider reducing some ingredients such as sugar and fats to help reduce the level of carbohydrates and fats in the body (Wiseman et al ., 2016). It also calls for less intake of alcohol as excessive intake messes up with the body and brain functions of an individual leading to an unhealthy life. With that being said taking this initiative to live healthy lifestyle might not be as pleasant as many people would expect it to be but every good thing comes out of a hard work and dedication. The results of choosing to take the healthy life route are satisfying and ensures one of a long healthy life with less or no physical and mental health issues.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle has been the clarion call from specialists and practitioners in the medical and science field as they say that this initiative will enable people live long healthy lives with less health problems. Healthy lifestyle will allow people to prevent being victims of chronic diseases or conditions which are affecting people in today’s world. It is important to note that it is a long challenging journey that requires dedication, commitment and sacrifice but its results are worthwhile. Good nutrition, physical exercises, clean diet, resting and talking about things that stress you up are the fundamentals of ensuring that one lives a holistic healthy life. A healthy life is a happy life which means that choosing to adopt a healthy lifestyle is not an option for one to choose, it is a fundamental decision that one should commit to.
