4.4 Assignment: Research-based Marketing Plan Final Proposal - Product Development and Market Demand
Key differentiating characteristics of the offering
JGJ, Inc. has created the ultimate at-home product line for the upper middle-class sector of the economy (“The Class”). Within our newest line of robotics, we have created five top-of-the-line products that all consumers in our target market must have. The first product in our line is a vacuum/mop. This product will be fully automated, and it will be up to the consumer to set a schedule or manually start the vacuum/mop. Our second product is a lawn mower. This lawn mower contains a 60-inch deck and is self-driving. Another product we have added to the line is a pet feeder. This feeder will always have our customer’s pets nourished. Along with the pet feeder, our company has also added a security system. This system will answer the door for our customers and display a holographic image to the passerby. The system will then notify our customer who is at the door via facial recognition technology. The last product in our current line is a personal assistant. This personal assistant will allow our customers to schedule appointments in minutes on-line, set reminders and alarms, and send invites to events directly to family members and friends. The significant thing about our line being known as the ultimate package in robotics is that all our products will connect directly to our customer’s personal assistant. Since everything is connected to the assistant, our customers can simply tell the virtual assistant to mow the grass, mop the floor, feed the cat, etc.
Analysis of demand in the market
Society today is after products that offer an ease of use (John, 2016). This is mainly due to people today always being on the go. Our products will allow our customers to have more time to focus on other aspects of their lives instead of day-to-day chores.
Table 1.1 – Tasks per day in hours
We believe that once our target market realizes the opportunity cost savings of time versus the monetary value of our product that demand for our products will increase year over year. Currently, we are projecting saving our customers 3.5 hours each day via cleaning and miscellaneous activities as shown in Table 1.1.
