Introduction

"China Dream" is defined as to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and it is the greatest dream of the Chinese nation. This paper is a review for article the China Dream and Xi Jingping Takes Over. The review aims to state and comprehend the profound connotation of China Dream. China Dream is the unique dream of Chinese nation, which owns its Chinese characteristics and differ from the dreams of other country, to realize prosperity and rejuvenation of Chinese nation.

Summary

The purpose of this article is to analyze the essence of China Dream and its impacts. The main issues are the connection between the China Dream at nation level and that of Chinese people level, the significance of China Dream to CCP leadership and the competitive relationship of China Dream and the western development path. The author posed four main concepts: first, China Dream is the dream of a successful, modern China with the consistency among the country, nation and people; second, China Dream was spread beyond officialdom with different type dreams in different fields; third, the rise of China and China Dream has caught much attention in the world, which suggests China wants to be number one in the world, last, the China Dream would surpass the western development path. The central question in the article is what impacts have brought by China Dream at home and abroad. In order to analyze the China Dream deeply, the author employed the sound evidence including official statement, historical materials, Chinese successful events, the arguments of Chinese officers and known commentators for examples and used comparison between china dream and other type dreams of foreign countries, which made a good analysis. In the end, the author concluded that China Dream is not only the reflection of modern civilizations and success but also the intention of being superior, which was stated that China Dream would exceed western development (Peter, 2016).

Critique

In general, the arguments of the comprehension of China Dream are appropriate from the big picture, while the deeper meaning of China Dream is understated, especially for the close relationship between China Dream and people, additionally, the great effects provoked by China Dream have witnessed indeed, while the prediction of China Dream aiming at China being number one in the world is overstated (Peter, 2016), which also lacks of the deep understanding of the inner meaning of China dream. First of all, the concrete manifestation of "China Dream" is the prosperity of the country, the revitalization of the nation and the happiness of the people (Jane, 2013). The way to achieve is to take the socialist road with Chinese characteristics, to adhere to the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to carry forward the national spirit and to unite the Chinese forces (Jane, 2013). "Chinese Dream" is the good dream of Chinese people for their own country, the nation and their own future prospects, which is a high degree unity of the national goals and personal dreams. China is to let the Chinese people themselves become masters, live a more affluent, more dignified life, make every Chinese people can share the opportunity to live a better life and make the growth and progress come true, so the Chinese dream is the people's dream fundamentally (The Economist). Similarly, to realize the Chinese dream must gather the power of Chinese people. This is the power of the great unity of the Chinese people. Chinese dream is the dream of the nation, but also the dream of every Chinese people (Yuzhi, 2013). Chinese dream in the final analysis is the dream of the people, must rely on the people to achieve, and must continue to benefit the people (Yuzhi, 2013). Then, China Dream" is closely linked with the peaceful development of the world (Kuhn, 2013). To achieve the Chinese dream, not only for the benefit of the Chinese people, but also for the benefit of all peoples in the world. "China Dream" and "American Dream" and other countries do not conflict with each other, but also a complementary relationship (Yuzhi, 2013). Therefore, the "Chinese dream" is not an "empire dream", not "a dream only for China", not "exclusive dream", but also not "hegemony dream" (Ryan, 2015). Thus, the argument about China’ aiming for number one in the world is an exaggeration.

Conclusion

"China Dream" is to take the special road of China and carry forward the spirit of China with Chinese own characteristics. It is also to adhere to the peaceful development, adhere to cooperation and win-win, to participate in the dream of global governance. In a word, the article is not persuasive enough without accurate understanding of China Dream and some arguments to some degree are defensive and exaggerated.
