100 students participated in a 2 month long Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP) at a middle school in Troy, NY. The students consisted of 45 7th graders and 55 8th graders. Out of the 100 students 40 were females and 60 were males. Running the CSPAP program were the PE staff at the middle school. Students involved in the program participated in a 1 Hour long activity session before the start of the school day 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). School started at 8:15AM and the CSPAP program ran from 7-8AM those 3 days a week. We tested students on physical gains by endurance assessments during the first, fourth and eighth weeks. Students only ran the mile on the Monday and Friday of the first, fourth and eighth weeks. We also tested students cognitively with memory test before and after a workout in the morning. Students were given a set of pictures in an order and had to put them back in the order seen after the workouts. They did this the first week, fourth week and eighth week.
