Topic Ways that an organization can recover its IT resources from a disaster

Organizations have to think about the future in terms of technology, customer goals, budget & business solutions and also, about the disaster recovery plan. It's key to run the business at all times and at the same time preparing a recovery plan with the team is the crucial thing. This disaster recovery plan helps in case of any natural disaster like fire, storm, flood or any kind of human failures. Before and while creating this plan, company must include the decision makers from all the departments like financial, security, I.T, business and management. This must be best way to recover the lost data and every organization must create & adhere to them because we never know what can happen at any moment of time.

Disaster recovery plan must consists of few things. Firstly, make an inventory list of physical valuables and other services which has high potential and impact in an organization, so that if any disaster happens, these need to recover first. Secondly, sensitive data backup, some companies like financial, health might have sensitive data like personal information, critical software licenses or servers which need to saved securely. And in case of disaster, this needs to be recover soon than later. Furthermore, companies can guess possible disasters and make a decision based on the result. Create a new disaster recovery team and a new offsite location. This way they get communicated at each day and mainly communication must be in sync, during a disaster. Also, don’t forget to include directions on how to reach the recovery site for personnel that need to get there.

Once companies have all these features clubbed together, it must be a perfect recovery plan. These are the main controls and additioanlly, there should be emergency contacts. For I.T companies, if there are using servers which have higher impact or problems, they need to move to cloud for better security, low risk and high performance. Finally, testing of all the applications and upgrading the I.T infrastructure during each phase of their company software development life cycle - definitely helps in case of avoiding any kind of cyber crime or diasters. Also, the complete flow picture of the entire IT network and the recovery site.
