Design relevant, multidimensional nursing care for optimal health inclusive of client preferences, values, and beliefs.

This whole quarter has been a summary and reflection of all the important material we learned to be successful after nursing school. One important thing a learned from the program overall is that multidimensional care is vital in health care. We look at patients holistically and provide care as needed to care for the whole body. In order to provide the best care as we learned earlier on, one has to check themselves and all biases at the door. It is no more about the healthcare member's preferences, values, or beliefs but solely of the client's. Once all caregivers are able to do this, we can provide client-centered care. As I start a new journey, this is very important to understand and implement in the workplace.

Select approaches to client care that incorporate care and comfort, risk reduction, health promotion, and disease management.

The ATI quizzes helped me understand important factors when pertaining to care and comfort, risk reduction, health promotion, and disease management. Although many of the questions were tough, they helped challenge me to think deeply and use clinical reasoning. I really like how each question has rationals for each answer to really grasp how to understand and go about different situations. Here is where prioritization played a huge role. This process is one that I found beneficial and will utilize when reviewing for the NCLEX.

Prioritize evidence-based, client-centered nursing care as a foundation for emotional, mental, spiritual, and social well-being.

Evidence-based practice is used daily in health care facilities as the best way to provide adequate care to patients. It is vital to review and stay up to date with evidence-based practice. This is a way to determine procedures and policies that are used to treat and care for clients. A good example of this would be the beginning of covid. This was a crisis because it was all new and needed lots of research. As more and more research was done, policies and procedures changed due to evidence-based research. As we keep learning new things it'll continue to change. The main focus is client-centered care and how we can maintain keeping the client and their safety priority. This should always be a priority for all healthcare workers.

Utilize data-driven nursing care strategies inclusive of continuous quality improvement.

Having updated research and implementing evidence-based practice will continue to improve quality care to patients. This includes effectively collaborating with other healthcare members and using critical thinking. Another way to continue providing quality care is by reviewing CEUs and providing more education opportunities for healthcare members. These are opportunities to gain and maintain knowledge in the workplace.

Synthesize components of clinical judgment, professional nursing identity, and reflective practice for lifelong learning.

Clinical judgment is an important attribute to have for prioritizing care and determining care plans for patients. In most other jobs having professional nursing, identity is vital for obtaining employment. I learned that a professional identity in nursing is the different characteristics and attributes that define oneself in the workplace. It takes time to develop a professional identity. Some important attributes to have are clinical reasoning, honesty, confidence, honesty, empathy, and accountability. As I transition into the workplace and further my education I can start my new journey and showcase my professional identity. These attributes and characteristics are important lifelong components to have and implement for collaborative teamwork and the best care for clients.

Determine effective responses to clinical problems integrating information technology, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and interprofessional collaboration.

Interprofessional collaboration is essential in the health field as it aids in avoiding errors, determining errors in treatment plans, and responding to problems with care. Communication is crucial to have as it helps to reduce and correct errors in a timely manner that puts the patient's safety first. All of these qualities help improve quality care for patients and result in a higher chance of positive outcomes and goals being achieved. Everything is a learning experience. Sometimes we can do everything right and still have negative outcomes. By assessing the effectiveness of the care plan there is room to make changes if needed. This is where we learn and improve.

Design appropriate, multidimensional nursing care for optimal health inclusive of client preferences, values, and beliefs.

In module two, we discussed the multidimensional nursing aspects of client preferences, values, and beliefs. Multidimensional care is essential in healthcare. As future nurses, we need to understand the different client preferences, values, and beliefs. Multidimensional nursing care involves several members of the healthcare team. The other team members are resources that can be used to help with different beliefs or client values. I will learn about different client values and ideas in my practice. If I am unsure about a specific client, I will research during downtime (Rasmussen University, 2021).

Select approaches to client care which incorporate care and comfort, risk reduction, health promotion, and disease management.

In weeks three through five, we discussed care and comfort, risk reduction, health promotion, and disease management. The course competency was fulfilled by attending live classrooms and taking the proctored quizzes. We learned many different techniques on how nurses can provide safe care to patients. For instance, using the five rights before administering medication is one way to reduce risk and harm to the patient. I learned that identify risk factors associated with a disease process. It can be a helpful tool that can prevent further injury to the patient. I will use the five rights of medication in my practice to ensure that my patient is safe and free from harm (Rasmussen University, 2021).

Prioritize evidence-based, client-centered nursing care as a foundation for emotional, mental, spiritual, and social well-being.

In module seven, we discussed therapeutic techniques and supporting the client during a stressful event. A proctored ATI quiz completed the course competency. Evidence-based practice (EBP) consists of best research evidence, patient values, and clinical expertise. The foundation of EBP occurs in various clinical settings and cultures. I learned in class ways to promote positive mental health, which includes therapeutic communication, coping strategies, and support systems. It is vital to use all these techniques to provide adequate client-centered care. I will use proper therapeutic communication with my patients and the healthcare team. I will develop a strong relationship with my patients and my colleagues. I will be a robust support system for my clients because, in the COVID world, some families aren't allowed to have visitors or may not have family around (Rasmussen University, 2021).

Utilize data-driven nursing care strategies inclusive of continuous quality improvement.

In week 8, we learned to identify and implement activities that can help improve the processes related to the healthcare setting. This course competency was fulfilled by attending a live classroom. Since the nursing profession is constantly changing, nurses need to be aware of new data and research. The majority of the hospitals use data to help improve patient outcomes or ways to implement a process better. These can be anywhere from audit reports or patient satisfaction forms. I learned that evidence-based projects are teaching tools that can help me successfully learn about promoting change. I will use quality improvement projects and survey to help me better myself as a nurse and promote safe environments for patients (Rasmussen University, 2021).

Synthesize components of clinical judgement, professional nursing identity, and reflective practice for lifelong learning.

In module nine, the focus was on sound clinical judgement and the lifelong commitment to learning. The concept map assignment completed the course competency. Clinical judgment can be a scary transition from being a student nurse to developing into a "real-life" RN. As nurses, we must make clinical judgments every day for our patients. But these clinical judgments can be based on hospital protocols or assessment skills. One thing that I learned is that there are so many certifications for specialties in nursing. I will seek to obtain the Acute/Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) within five years in my future practice. I am dedicated to lifelong learning by getting all the required CEUs to keep my license active (Rasmussen University, 2021).

Determine effective responses to clinical problems integrating information technology, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and interprofessional collaboration.

In module 10, the focus was on evidence-based practice in the nursing process and evaluating collaborative methods in the healthcare setting. The course competency was completed by completing the ATI Learning systems comprehensive final quiz. In the nursing profession, interprofessional collaboration is a staple for developing a patient care plan. The methods of delivery of care have changed dramatically. Today, patients can get care via Telehealth instead of driving to the clinic or doctor's office. Telehealth is a method of care that can be delivered quickly and is an excellent resource for tertiary measures. I learned that technology is being used to identify potential issues using evidence-based practice in quality improvement projects. I will utilize technology and collaboration to help make decisions in the patient's best interest. This will benefit the patient, but it will provide reliable and continuous care (Rasmussen University, 2021).
