This chapter is very informative and assisted me in understanding the selection of methodology and requirement of methodology selection in dealing with dissertations. The first concept which grabbed my attention in this chapter is the characteristics of quantitative research. This methodology involves numerical values and it is necessary to use statistical approaches to evaluate and analyze the data collected from the selected populations (Zubiaga et al., 2018). This methodology involves triggering questions that are narrow and the collection of numerical data is done in this kind of methodology. This is a very interesting and kind of educational research method. The data is collected from participants and analysis is data is done to extract exact research results. This also aided me in knowing the development of quantitative research methodology. The second topic which I felt innovative is a qualitative methodology and its characteristics. This is another form of research methodology which involves the collection of textual data from the participants in the form of interviews the data is collected (Zubiaga et al., 2018).

The third concept which I felt informative throughout this chapter is the differences between qualitative and quantitative methods and approaches. There are several differences between these two methodologies and the selection of method by the researcher is mostly based on the research project. A qualitative approach is a more frequently used and selected method by researchers as it involves the collection and analysis of data simply compared to a quantitative approach (Fuller, 2019). The last topic which I felt informative steps in the research process identification of the problem, collection of data and analysis of data, and evaluation of data are some of the steps involved in research methodologies. Those concepts which are discussed in this chapter are really impressive and helped me in gaining some knowledge regarding the selection of research approach which is very essential for conducting research (Chen et al., 2020). Data analysis and interpretation of results will be very helpful in knowing the results of the research. By application of applied knowledge provides a path in conducting research.

The assigned readings of chapter two in this week has presented conducting literature review on research topic before the research select research approach, that is, it offers a framework for an overview of other papers by that author for future review of the topic, using different methods, tools and methodology (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). However, the important concepts of this chapter are the research Topic, the literature review, the use of literature review, Steps in conducting literature review. A part from that research topic is to demonstrate that the author's primary aim is writing articles about the subject and that the work is relevant and useful for the reader (Creswell & Creswell, 2018).

On the other hand, the literature review is to show particular reader that researcher hav written work that they should be considered for a paper or a research project under that topic, or other research program, if need be. It is the researcher who is assigned the papers, in order to give them more attention in the research selection process and to promote collaboration among participants. This is necessary since research can be considered as a research project under other topics that are outside of the scope of the paper (Creswell & Creswell, 2018).

Moreover, the use of the literature can further help researchers in planning research proposal, by allowing a discussion of any possible alternative research project for a paper in future selection of papers. For example, some project may be about a particular research subject which would help the research team gain information and insight into the subject or it could be a paper on some different topic which would be of interest for the reviewers to make the appropriate reference to other relevant research questions (Creswell & Creswell, 2018).

However, the chapter two has presented in depth analysis of conducting literature review that starts with identifying keywords and searching data bases (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). Moreover, it has included a section for reviewing all relevant and competing literature for review. In addition, it shows how to identify and analyse a research topic, its importance and its context. The first two main elements of conducting literature review in this week is to ensure ready, if your research topic is not in topic for the week, to make a good start to the project: an objective definition and a rationale for your research topic (Creswell & Creswell, 2018).

From 2nd chapter of APA publication manual, the chapter was manly focused on for mate of the research paper that include title page, running head format, font styles, heading levels and style. However, the title page of paper contains topic short abbreviation of the paper and student name, course id, professor name and date (Bradley et al., 2020).

On the other hand, heading levels have been changed from the previous APA, which were a set of numbers, at the end of the title page with a heading (at the top right of the text) in small font (Bradley et al., 2020). This gave more attention to the content of the paper and also makes it easy to compare paper to other ones using the heading level in the title page. Another change in title level were the bold font style, which made it easier to read the title in an easy to read way (Bradley et al., 2020).

However, most of the other changes to titles came from the new format which was created by the APA. It was different from previous APA title level and was not a standard format. It is different because it is not a standard format and it is not used anywhere else. But it is still used in APA publications for research papers. This new format has improved to be more legible, but it does not mean that the research literature has been improved (Bradley et al., 2020).

In APA journal title, many things were changed. This has not been the case with the APA title. The APA was created to make the journal better and its structure had been used for decades, so changes happened everywhere, but the changes on the journals have not been as big as in APA journal title (Bradley et al.,

Topic Literature review needed to be there before going into any of the approaches and this chapter is more focusing on describing the literature review. Immediately after the topic has been decided the research will be initiated with the literature. I have come to know that literature review is the one which is more responsible for satisfying many of the purposes and this can be possible by the knowledge distribution. I have also understood that literature review is giving many insights (Arangol et al., 2019). Qualitative approach definition is an interesting fact from the chapter and also I have found that this is quite interesting as this is giving all the necessary information regarding the different steps that are included in the qualitative approach. The collection of the data and the analysis included in this kind of approach also seem to be very much informative.

The next topic that made me pay more attention is that statistical as well as the mathemative calculations. These calculations will not be utilized by most researchers why because there are more complications included in these calculations (Bao Rong Chang et al., 2013). In this approach interviews has been arranged and also few of the questions have been included.

The next interesting topic from the chapter is regarding the methodologies of mixed approach research. This is included with the two of the approaches and those are qualitative and quantitative. This will not be utilized most commonly and this is relying upon the chosen topic by the researcher for undergoing analysis. This procedure is included with two of the things such as the survey and also the interview questions (Ju Ren et al., 2019). For performing the research there are mainly three important procedures included and all these approaches are showing a clear way in choosing the approaches for performing the research.

Steps that are included in the procedure of the research are the final interesting fact from the chapter and this topic is giving a lot of information regarding the different steps that are present in the research (Arangol et al., 2019).
