Your response should be composed of three sections

1) A short paragraph which directly responds to the question(s) posed by the instructor. Ignore questions contained with the document itself.

a) What does Bolivar suggest are the origins of Latin American discontent with Spanish rule?

b) What do his letters tell us about the class nature of the revolutionary movements in Latin America?

Historical Investigations

2) Your presentation of evidence from the documents to support your analysis. Direct quotes or paraphrases are acceptable.

This must be accompanied by proper text citations. Either footnotes (MLA) or in-text citations are acceptable. Rather than a separate section of evidence this should simply be incorporated into your response to the question posed.

Historical Investigations

3) “For Zoom Reflection” is not for inclusion in your written response! It reflects a broader issue for you to consider as part of our in class zoom discussion only.

For Reflection:  What concerns does Bolivar raise regarding Latin America's post-revolutionary future?  Given contemporary realities in the region were Bolivar's concerns justified?
