Do you agree with the approach on Qualitative Validity or what would you do different?
To achieve confirmability, researchers must take steps to demonstrate that findings emerge from the data and not their predispositions. Shenton (2004). The three things a qualitative researcher can consider would be. What types of data will be collected, and what methods are to be used to manage the data? Where and for how long will the research be conducted. (Malec and Newman, 2013)
The qualitative article I found was men’s grief following pregnancy loss and neonatal loss. The method used was systematic it four databases PubMed, PsycINFO, Embase, and CINAHL. One was men’s experiences of grief following pregnancy/neonatal loss; and what are the predictors of men’s pain following pregnancy/neonatal loss (Obst et al. BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2020)
This article reports qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods on how men’s grief experiences, and current grief measures.it has comparison to women, men may face different challenges. Expectations to support female partners, and a lack of social recognition for their grief and subsequent needs. Pain concerning the pregnancy/neonatal loss experience. Obst et al. BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2020)
I do believe that the authors do an excellent job demonstrating validity. They show most of the finding that men and women face dealing with pregnancy/neonatal loss. How they experience grief and the pain that it talks about the number of pregnancies, and they also talk about the number of stillborn babies across countries. It also talks about the different ways how the men, women, Fathers, Grief, Stillbirth, Miscarriage, Neonatal loss with a systematic review and qualitative methods.
