Chapter 1 has many different elements that need to be addressed.  As per the DBA template, the following sections are included in Chapter 1 (Trident University, 2021).

1. Background

2. Statement of the Problem

3. Purpose of the Study

4. Conceptual Framework

5. Research Questions

6. Method and Design Overview

7. Significance of the Study

8. Definition of Key Terms

9. Summary

Of these nine components, I have little to no information on the background, statement of the problem, and purpose of the study.  I know that in a previous course we drafted Chapter 1 but at that time my research topic was different so everything I had written for Chapter 1 is no longer relevant.  As of right now, I basically have to redo the entire chapter. As of now, since we had to revise Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 of the DSP, I am confident I will be able to add enough detail to complete the research questions, method and design overview, definition of key terms, and summary without any issues.

Of these nine components, I find the statement of the problem, the purpose of the study, and significance of the study to be the most challenging.  These three areas will be challenging because I have to link them to prior literature review. I have to justify why my research is important and what benefits will come from completing my research study. Although the type of research method and design has already been established in Module 2, I am still a little uncertain if I have selected the right research design.  The type of research design needs to be added to the purpose of the study section along with a description of why and how it aligns with the problem statement.  I just hope it all makes sense and it does correlate with one another.  In order to overcome these challenges, I plan to just take it one section at a time.  I will have to constantly keep asking myself why this study is necessary.  What is my main focus?  Which of the literature review best fits this section to help support my rationale to expand on the research? I guess as we are getting closer to submitting our proposal to the review board, I am starting to question myself.  I just hope that I have enough compelling information to support my research objective.

Thus far, however, I think the most challenging section of the DSP is Chapter 2, the Literature Review.  If I got through that, I can only assume I can get through Chapter 1.
