Good day to all,

In this week's reading, I want to talk about the collaboration between the manufacturer, supplier, and retailer; I feel this relationship it's very critical within the supply chains. If the bond that links the manufacturer to the supplier to the retailer is tight and has a streamlined effect that gets products to the retailer and also from the retailer, they can provide feedback on the products that they receive in return from customers. This relationship is also important because it helps the manufacturers understand the retailer's need for a certain product, and it helps the supplier either keeps stock of a product or allows the supplier not to have an overstock of a product that is not moving. Building a responsive supply chain is another big area that most modern supply chains should try to emulate. In today's world, things move very fast, and also people's appetite for products comes and goes; therefore, a supply chain needs to know when to buy and when to sell certain products; it's kind of like the stock market. You can have an item that is trending up one week, and that same item can be trending down, and it is up to the supply chain to be able to navigate the hurdles in order to turn profits. This involves supply chains having an adaptive program that can assist them with by level of forecasting that is suitable for their supply chain network.

Miguel Cruz Greetings Class and Dr. Hughes,

Globally Optimized Operations is a very complex term, but on this week’s discussion board, I will go over this topic and explain what it is. A lot has changed since the pandemic hit in 2020, there is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to the global supply chain and that’s because of how complex it is. With multiple changes in the economic world, there is a lot that is required by companies from a supply chain perspective. It is important to understand that the term “global optimization”, as used here, is not a method to solve supply chain management problems but rather a concept of viewing multi-silo supply chain problems from a broader perspective (Maksud I, 2014). When talking about optimization is basically the balance of the supply chain for efficiency while still getting the lowest total cost. Pretty much the stability and balance in a company are extremely important and reestablishing that comes with looking for ways to streamline operations within the global supply chain. Optimization can be described also as the process of discovering extremes in the global highest and lowest found. Determining, which is the best choice between the many resolutions, they can be rated as the best value. Integration into the supply chain is important and it is key. This is because it’s a process where all the partners that are involved with the implementation of a product are integrated into a particular system. There is a substantial amount of coordination that is required to guarantee that everyone is on the same sheet of music and working towards the same goal. From an abstract point of view, business- perspective global optimization fits into the framework of traditional global optimization. What distinguishes it as a subclass from traditional business optimization scenarios is that its problems can be formulated as objective functions with more complex-structured search spaces (Maksud I, 2014). When optimizing operations globally improvements need to happen and to document the improvements of operations there are a variety of ways to ensure that happens while maintaining success within the company. Customer service and customer satisfaction are part of that. Ensuring that customer service continues to improve, and the

customers are happy will ensure operations are optimized within a supply chain.

Miguel,
