response
Guided Response: You are required to substantively respond in writing on the discussion board to at least two of your colleagues by Day 7 (the following Monday). Discuss the ways in which the accommodations and/or modifications in your colleagues’ posts fit into the IEP we are developing for Huang. List one or two steps needed to implement the supports in the classroom. As you review the posts submitted by your peers, some responses may also consider how your topic may be similar (or different) to others in our class. Make comparisons between the strategies of your peers. Consider asking additional clarifying questions or providing sources to extend the discussion.
This forum should be used as a scholarly platform to discuss similar or opposing ideas and to provide additional sources that you may have found helpful to your own learning and preparation.
Though two replies are the basic expectation, for deeper engagement and application of the material, you are encouraged to provide responses to any comments or questions others have given to you (including your instructor) before Day 7. This ongoing engagement in the discussion will deepen the conversation while providing opportunities to demonstrate your content expertise, critical thinking, and real-world experiences with this topic.

Differentiated Instruction
Differentiated instruction is defined as an approach to teaching and learning so that students have multiple options for taking in information and making sense of ideas (Tomlinson, 2006). The differentiated instruction model requires teachers to be flexible in their approach to teaching and adjust the curriculum and presentation of information to learners rather than expecting students to modify themselves for the curriculum(Tomlinson, 2006). The first step in determining if a technique will work is to conduct an analysis. Professionals working with children with special needs must do testing to assess the intervention or outcome. Several implementations must produce meaningful outcomes to demonstrate the strategy's efficacy.
Student assessment/ Data Collection
To ascertain the student's current level of success, they must be tested. This will help educators decide and evidence-based practices to help students increase their rates above the benchmark. For instance, a student with reading difficulties can benefit from an analogic teaching approach that enables them to recognize patterns in words and work out unfamiliar words using recognized sections of words or entire words. To improve the accuracy of determining the right intervention for a student, evidence-based practices would be gathering data, such as areas of vulnerability, strengths, etc. Continuous evaluation is required to evaluate the strategy's success; this will allow for necessary adjustments.
Measuring outcomes of the strategies/Benefits and limitations
Measurable results are needed for evidence-based practices to determine their efficacy or ineffectiveness to take practical steps. It must cover particular skillsets for educators to adapt properly. The approaches should be beneficial, i.e., they should solve the problem they were created to solve. Its shortcomings must be stated clearly. The positives should outweigh the disadvantages.
Evidence-based strategies to help Huang achieve his goals
Differentiated Instruction necessitates regular evaluation and tracking. Teachers will be able to reevaluate students' needs and abilities to execute various assignments while showing their knowledge and strengths in response. It will improve student conduct and allow teachers to gauge learning abilities as an observable result. There are many options for Huang. But I found his communication is the biggest hurdle. So I will use the Peer Mediated Instruction and Intervention approach to help Huang achieve his objective of successful communication. It's an evidence-based approach, and it's backed up with more than two groups with different approaches but favorable outcomes and very few setbacks.

Hello Everyone,
What is Differentiated Instruction?
“A teacher differentiates his or her instruction by making adaptations that fit each learner’s needs, styles, and abilities. Educators utilizing differentiated instruction are acknowledging that students learn at different rates, that they have different learning styles and strengths, and that they differ in their ability to think abstractly or understand complex ideas” (2009). Every child has a need, and every need is different, so understanding those needs is essential while teaching them. Tailoring instruction for individual needs will help grasp the attention of the student.
There has been a growing need for research in this field, and it is getting done. Many researchers are finding positive results in each implementation. According to Tracy Huebner, “differentiated instruction consistently yielded positive results across a broad range of targeted groups” (2010). All research has included an assessment of the individual student’s current performance followed by the implementation of a strategy to improve that performance beyond the baseline rates. The required data for each individual intervention has been included. “A study published by Procedia Social and Behavioral Sciences found that students’ learning outcomes significantly improve when teachers use differentiated content that responds to a student’s learning preferences” (2020).
Differentiated instruction has many disadvantages, although I believe it is better for the student at hand after researching it myself. One of the disadvantages is that time can be essential as teachers decide to take on this work or job, and we need to make the time for every student. Another disadvantage is that students need to learn in multiple ways.
