The Ottoman Turks having entered into world war 1, where they sided Germany. The Austro-Hungarian empire was worried that the Armenians living in the ottoman empire would give an assistance of war to Russia (Alexanian, 2019).  Russia had long coveted control of Istanbul that controlled the access of the black sea. Many of the Historians reported that about two million people died. This mass killing was believed to contain about 1.8 million Armenians. There were some of whom were massacred by Ottoman forces in the year 1918 as they marched through East Armenia.

By the year 1914, the Ottoman authorities were already portraying Armenians as a threat to the empire's security. The authorities of Constantinople, the empire capital, rounded up to about 250. Armenian intellectuals and the community leaders were assassinated. April 24, that was known as red Sunday, is commemorated as the Genocide Remembrance Day by many of the Armenians around the world. It is estimated that about two million of the Armenian nationalists died. Most of the victims are reported to have died by burning and by drowning, torture, gas, poison diseases, and starvation.

Diseases killed many of the men and children, as well as women. In case there was an outbreak of a disease, it occurred that many people suffered from it due to much integration that was there. Some of the Armenian population was sent into the desert, where they died and suffered a lot from both hunger and lack of water. This killed many people due to the conditions that are there in the desert. Some of the people are also believed to have died out of dehydration since, in the desert, it is scalding; hence many people could die since they was no water nor food.

Genocide before it happened it was not a crime. However, it was said to be a crime in the year 1948, and this was the time when the united nations approved the convection on the prevention and punishment of the crime genocide. The query here is Armenian killing a mass killing, or was it a genocide? There are a lot of queries and many issues that are brought about as whether it was a mass killing or whether it was a genocide. This question arises since there are people who have not proven it yet as a genocide, and some feel it was a mass killing.

For this reason, it poses a few problems to those that believe it is a genocide and those that do not believe that it is genocide. This, therefore, brings much debate amongst the people who believe it was a genocide and those that believe it is a mass killing. Several ways can be used to solve this problem since this is not an easy thing. To bring the differences amongst the people into harmony, it should be agreed that it is one thing. Just like it is celebrated today, people should continue celebrating it as the way it is. The government should put measures in place so that people can remain with a joint stand.
