DISCUSSION:
Leadership style is the behavior of the superior who design the plans, implement the designs, shows the direction to reach the goals, and motivates the people. Each individual develops his own leadership qualities and changes them according to the organizational structure. The leadership style may differ from each of the organizations. Leadership style is very important to make people work together and achieve the desired goals. Leadership influences organizational performance. Good leadership can lead the organization successfully. There are different leadership styles. Transformational leadership is one of the leadership styles in which the leader always strives to make the transformation that can yield good results. Transformations like hierarchy, communication lines, skills, moralities, etc. They have an emotional bond with the employees by understanding their self-interests. This type has a positive impact on organizational performance. Charismatic leadership is another style where the leader has charismatic thinking and goals. Followers are asked to work to reach those goals. This is one of the best leadership styles and on the other side, it has major drawbacks. The followers are dependent on the follower. Once the leader is left, Followers become direction-less. So it is important to train the subordinates as their replacements. Transactional style leadership involves the exchange of rewards, pay rise, and targets between employees and management. Due to the expectations of the management, Employees cannot improve their creativity and improve their interests. In the Democratic Style, decision making is decentralized. The decision is taken by the employee and recommendations and suggestions are taken from the leaders. It gives freedom for the employee and creativity and interests. It has a positive impact on the performance of the organization. In an Autocratic style, the Only leader will have the power for making decisions. A leader can make his subordinates work according to his wish. It is not a successful leadership style. In bureaucratic style, Employees will make the decisions and leaders will follow it. It is not a correct way of management because each employee designs his process and leads to confusion and inconsistency.
a) In my opinion, Transformational and Democratic styles are effective as they include both the employee and management interests and decisions. These types help to motivate the people and employees will have satisfaction in the job they were working. It improves collaboration, each individual can improve their skills and start developing leadership qualities and leadership techniques.
b) The leader I worked has a charismatic behavior. She has good communication skills and I like the way she talks formally. She brilliantly convinces the teammate and takes everyone's opinion in to account. She handles the miscommunications and conflicts effectively. She recognizes the interests and gives the tasks accordingly. In my honest opinion she has mixed style of both transformational and charismatic leadership.
