Responding to Peer's Posting
Peer’s posting:
The company’s strategy can be stated but can only be implemented through the shaping of employees’ behavior and performance (Spector, 2013). When employees are mutually engaged in the work or behaviors that are being asked of them, they are more likely to be committed to the overall organizational design and company’s strategy (Spector, 2013). The organizational design should serve as the framework upon which employee behavior and actions are built, molded, or encouraged.
Formal or informal factors all affect employee behavior that should be stimulated as a direct result of the organizational design. The organization design should be crafted in a way so as to encourage and motivation employees, in addition to completing all desired work within any given time constraints (Tufail, Bashir & Shoukat, 2016). The organizational design should be mutually beneficial for the employees and for the organization (Tufail, Bashir & Shoukat, 2016).
Although organizational change tends to be pervasive, it is important to note that employees still struggle to effectively adapt to organizational changes and therefore, desired behaviors (Scarlett, 2016). If the informal and formal arrangements are designed efficiently, they will be effective in molding employee behavior to be suited towards the company’s strategy. Leaders should effectively assist employees through change and encourage their actions to jive with the company’s strategy.
