Responding to Guest Concerns about Cyberattacks

You are responsible for Cybersecurity in the Guest Relations Office of a major hotel chain. There have been news reports of cybersecurity attacks on hotels including one in this hotel chain located in North Carolina USA.

You have been asked to draft a letter to guests to address concerns about the impacts of possible cyber-attacks.  

STEP 1

Please review the following articles on how to write a Breach Notification.

STEP 2

Select one of the articles below which describes the breach that has occurred at your hotel chain. Each of the three articles below detail a cyber-attack that can affect hotel operations and create fear and concern among guests and employees.

· Securing the Hotel Industry from Cyber Threats

STEP 3

· Using what you've learned about data security, draft a letter that you will use to: 

·  Inform and calm hotel guests should a similar cyberattack (door locks, guest WiFi access, or credit card Point-of-Sale breach) affect one of the company's hotel properties. 

· Your draft letter will also be used to train employees in how they can and should respond to guest concerns.
